I have only had the pleasure of this place once since I just found out about it! But be sure whenever I am close by I will definitely stop in for a quick bite & some of their delicious tea!! The ambiance is totally charming! Colorful, happy, peaceful.... The perfect little hidden gem! I have to add the ART is fabulous around the tea shop. Check the hours before going and parking is limited. Enjoy!

I loved this tea shop! It's a great find in Fort Lauderdale's Victoria Park / Sunrise Blvd neighborhood. It's laid back and has this casual and colorful hippy vibe that just makes you feel right at home with all the exoticism in the air. The staff is knowledgeable about the curated selection of the loose-leaf tea, even having specific tea for specific ailments (even PMS, surprisingly - so heads up, ladies everywhere!). The cafe also offers superfood options at a reasonable price for the portion (around $9-$12 for a really large plate). It's a great study spot, a great relaxing spot, and a great ____ spot! This place definitely makes me love Florida and it's a great stop even from Miami. :)

I had been wanting to try this place for months and had a day off so I decided to check it out. I went in around noon and was greeted by a really friendly and helpful member of the staff. I am not really a tea person and she guided me through the different teas until I chose the cold version of Samis Garden, which had elderberries, hibiscus, papaya, and raspberries. It was delicious and everything in the tea was edible. I ordered the Avocado sandwich which was really large. The bread was super fresh and they didnt short you on an ingredients. For my personal taste it was a little plain but super light and refreshing. I wish this place stayed open past four because I'll definitely be coming back to try their brunch and veggie burger.

Lovely, little cafe that specializes in all sorts of teas. I'm a tea enthusiast & love trying new types of teas-- they have a lot of sweet & fruity ones that caught my attention. They also have a green matcha tea, which I'm definitely saving for next time. I settled for their house tea, which was brought out in a big mason jar & what a surprise-- there were lots of goodies inside the tea from dried apples to strawberries to oranges. I couldn't wait to finish my tea & eat all the leftover fruit on the bottom. They serve healthy sandwiches, soups, and salads. I ordered the veggie burger with multigrain bread & it's definitely on my top list of veggie burgers. It really liked the sprouts & sunflower seeds. It also came with a side kale salad. The waitress and owner were very nice & were always checking if you needed anything. It's a small place with 7 tables inside & some outdoor seating so it gets pretty busy during lunchtime. The only down side maybe is that you have to pay for street parking because they don't have a parking lot. Just a little hassle but most of the time there are plenty of open meters nearby & you can also use the PayByPhone app, which always comes in handy.

Driving around and stumbled upon this place.. I'm sure it'll become one of my new go to places. You can tell that the food is made with love and care.... AMAZING! to top it off, the owners were super friendly and engaging. The food is reasonably priced. .especially with most of the ingredients being organic. My boyfriend and i tried the specials today: he had the Grilled cheese- sweet potato, caramelized onions, mozzarella, with cranberries and slivered almonds. I had the Grilled cheese- eggplant, pesto, cheddar, and tomato. Both sandwiches came with a small side of kale salad. For dessert we tried the homemade peach cobbler and raisins... had to get the ice cream on top! I highly recommend trying this place out!

Went inside on a whim as it was conveniently located near where I was staying. I went inside with the full intention of having lemongrass tea but decided to get something to eat to hold me over for a little bit. The lady behind the counter (I wish I had gotten her name) was sooo friendly, attentive and patient as I navigated my mind to narrow down what I wanted to get. After much deliberation, I purchased a cookie (don't judge me) and walked back to my hotel. I ate the cookie in my hotel room and was amazed at how good it was!!! I love almost all things natural but this cookie was much better than it looked and I expected it to be. It was soft, chewy, natural goodness, all for $2.16 (total with tax). I feel bad because I have no idea what type of cookie it was so I cannot correctly recommend it :-( I've learned my lesson in not judging a cookie by its appearance and will be back for at least one more before leaving Florida!

Read a lot of good reviews about Eat the Tea and was able to make my way over there today. I ordered the Happy Tea iced. It was served in a mason jar. Tea was very refreshing and dried fruit at the bottom tasted great. I ordered the banana and kale sandwich. I didn't taste the kale at all. Tasted more like a PB & J sandwich. It was really good. I tried the avocado and tomato sandwich too and loved it. Next time I want to try the veggie burger. Decor was really cute and the owner/managers were so nice. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves tea & vegetarian food.

Well, I finally had kale for the first time. And I liked it. One a Sunday afternoon we were cruising for something healthy and with the wife's new vegetarian lifestyle, I thought I'd support her in her veggie quest. Whipped out the trusty Yelp App and found Eat The Tea - which I had always come across on the site - but never been to. Parking on Sunday was free on the street - score! We headed inside and the place was smaller than I expected, but really cozy. We walked up the the counter and ordered two avocado tomato sandwiches and a cup of curry lentil soup. The curry lentil soup was delicious. Even though it was scorching outside, we enjoyed this cup of soup like it was the coldest day of winter. Then came out the sandwiches. I was definitely not expecting this amazing presentation. They had some flowers over the top of the sandwich and a side of kale. I hesitantly forked the kale and scooped it into my mouth. Holysh!t, this is actually delicious! They have a sauce (vegan) that they put over the top of it which is amazing. It's made from some sort of nut, but can't remember which. The kale salad also had some sunflower seeds. It was delicious. The avocado tomato sandwich was actually pretty big - and filling along with the kale - and the bread had olives in it. It was delicious and after eating it, while I was full, I actually felt pretty good and not in need of a nap (like after a fatty lunch). The staff was excelent as well. Extremely nice and offered up recommendations of what to do in the area. The onwer (I think) told us about the Gateway Theater, just up the street, and the recent remodel there. She was shocked when I told her that it was my first time eating kale and mentioned how versatile it could be if used the right way. I will certainly be back soon!

Awesome little cozy place. They have great healthy organic vegan/vegetarian food. I ordered an amazing PB&J kale sandwich -- so so so good. Their smoothies are delicious too! I ordered a white pear mango smoothie; you won't be disappointed. Definitely coming back! :)

Delisious healthy food with an amazing variety of teas and smoothies! They offer breakfast now! The kind of place you want to sit in and read all day, while sipping on your tea (or organic coffee) and possibly munching on a chocolate chip cookie. ..ooo or a coconut one, or a brownie or muffin!! Stop by for sure!!

Come here for an alternative to fatty foods. Come here to have good conversation with the owner/staff. Come here because you need a comfortable place to relax from busy life. I ordered the avocado sandwich and a tea to help with my sinuses. The sandwich was really good and I can't help but want to come back knowing that it was fresh and supporting local produce. The sandwich came with a really wonderful salad and altogether filled me up. Eat the tea is one of my favorites in the ft lauderdale area.

This place is tiny and food is ok but not for those prices, actually way overpriced (at lunchtime paid $ 30. for a soup, a sandwich, and a tea), and the staff are very friendly, however when the bill was brought to the table actually noticed it was more then what was ordered, the bill was hand written (rather then typed) and the itemized part was illegible, but the total was legible and was 25% more then it was supposed to be, according to prices posted on price list, just let it slide, because it's a small local business, and they probably need it to pay their bills, although they could do some more online advertising and marketing to get more customers, which is free advertising (FB, TW, PINT, INSTA,etc) , rather then hike up the bills when customers are already at the table, so if you try it, would suggest you check your bill carefully before paying.

I just ate the best veggie burger I have ever had. This place is a dive and a gem. The mother and daughter owner combination could not be nicer and more accommodating. This is a great place to get healthful and organic food. I also bought some tea that I am very excited to brew at home. I can't wait to go back and try more menu items.

You HAVE to try this fantastic little neighborhood restaurant and tea house!! Don't let the name fool you, they have more than just edible teas - great salads, sandwiches, desserts, and lots of gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Maureen and the girls are always happy and attentive - great food, service, and conversation. Love it!

  • Craig C.

I absolutely love this place! The teas are amazing and you can eat all of the herbs and flowers in the bottom of your mug as they are all organic and beneficial. The sandwiches are a bit on the pricey side, IMHO, but not out of the range for a quality, organic sandwich with a hefty portion of stuff inside! I also enjoy the staff. Everyone is friendly. I don't remember the owner's name, but she went out of her way to really chat with us and share very interesting knowledge on other herbs and barks that are used for healing purposes. We really enjoyed talking with her. We will definitely be back and help support small business owners in our community.

Wide selection of top-shelf tea, herbal tea, and nutritious smoothies. You can order a fresh cup of tea or buy it by the ounce to make at home. The food is mouth-watering. I recommend the veggie burger. Everything on the menu is excellent.

Right next to our gym Fit Factor, and open for breakfast now. Love the avocado toast. The pb&j kale sandwich is also great. Teas as great, and I often get a black chocolate coconut tea. They have these elixirs too for health reasons. I haven't tried them but last time I was there the owner was telling me how she's thinking of a new one for diabetes in addition to the ones she has for headaches, etc., Not sure how it would work but in case anyones is interested Staff is always friendly and helpful

We ran into this place by accident. The store we were going was close for another 1/2 hour, do we walked in. Ordered the green tea and its soooo good. Specially after lunch. Next time we will eat here. My daughter loved the carrot smoothie. My husband has the joint tea. Great atmosphere, friendly people.

I want small, local businesses to survive & thrive. I truly do. But they must do everything possible to make people want to return, right? The prices are extremely high & the portions are very small, a losing combination, unless the food is absolutely spectacular, which it was NOT. I can make lentil soup myself that tastes far better than this (too watery, bland, too much celery, needs more lentils). The smoothie was equally unimpressive. Worst of all, the server clearly did not want to be where she was, working in a food establishment; her attitude will continue to chase away customers. And although we arrived only half an hour after opening, the cafe had already run out of two of the daily specials. Not worth a second chance. Sorry, but I doubt they'll survive.

I absolutely love love love this place! Banana Kale is one of my favorite! The veggie burger is just amazing. I cannot help but to chew so slow I just don't want the flavors to leave my mouth. I love the fruit teas! Be sure to check those out. The house blend and "get happy" so refreshing !!

This Place Is Amazing! They Get Their Bread From Gran Forno Las Olas & I Love The Veggie Burger! The No Tuna Avacado Is Amazing As Well! 6 Stars!!!!!!!

  • Seth K.

The great: Vegetarian and vegan friendly menu, eclectic style, and a staff that feels like family. Everything has the stamp of someone attentive to the details (examples: the salt, not just sea salt, matcha sea salt. Not a grain of white processed sugar in the place.) I had the vegetarian chili with a slice of Gran Forno bread on the side. An immune boost infusion before my doctors appointment, and I couldn't resist the coconut oatmeal raisin cookie, which was as large as my head. The merely good: location isn't ideal, it's tucked back off sunrise at the intercostal. If I didn't run by it on a weekly basis. I never would have seen it. The hours: they seem to have recently opened for breakfast, but I have wanted to visit for months but I'm at work when they are open. Today I happened to have been out of work on a sick day. I'm going to try to make this one of my regular spots but it will be difficult.

I've been here on several occasions and it's such a great experience every time - from the cheerful owner and staff, to the teas, to the delicious food. I highly recommend trying the banana kale sandwich, which sounds bizarre but is one of the most oddly delicious creations I've had to date. I also came for breakfast and had the egg on croissant sandwich, which was equally pleasing. I wish I lived closer, as I'd be here all the time!

What a great spot! The food is healthy, fresh and delicious. Great people working there. Nice specials -- as the soup and desserts change daily. Small, but perfect menu. EAT THE TEA -- its amazing. The "no-tuna tuna sandwich" is my fav, add avocado though. A little expensive, but hey, treat yourself.

Awesome place food is great! Visiting out of town from NJ and found this cozy spot on Yelp. The reviews on this place was right on the money..all great! I ordered a veggie burger and a carrot smoothie. It was great! I was waited on by one of the owner's sister. The service was with a smile and everything on the menu seemed appetizing. Will be sure to visit this place again when I back in town!

Love this quaint little lunch place! Their banana kale sandwich is delicious, the service is nice too- both mother and daughter will take time explaining the benefits of each tea. My husband was asking for mustard one day, and the following time we went there, they were excited to tell us they had some :) . To me that's wonderful how they went out and remembered to tell us they had gotten some - we don't even go there that often!

excellent all around! a little neighborhood gem! laid back, homey atmosphere. owner is warm and welcoming, whether you are a new customer or coming in daily. food was perfect! really, really fresh, whole food. i had the italian veggie burger- soooo good - juicy and full of flavor! even the small side salad was notable. they definitely cook and prepare with love and care! the plantain leaf tea was a perfect recommendation. i will DEFINITELY go back as it is hard to find true vegetarian restaurants here in fort lauderdale.

  • Tuwie N.

The green matcha smoothie is made of dreams! I also got the special kale salad that day, which was as flavorful as it was filling. Things are on the expensive side here, but you can tell it's because the dishes and drinks have a lot of thought put into them, and are made from quality ingredients. Would have loved to try more of the menu, but I will be back next time! The owner is so warm and friendly, I felt like I was visiting a friend at her home rather than eating at a restaurant! :)

This place is one of my favorite little spots. Ever since one tea lounge in Wilton manors closed, I've been in search for a place that has a similar feel with delicious tea. Although it has taken years, I finally found a place that is comparable. The best thing on the menu is the banana kale sandwich. I crave this sandwich almost every day, it's THAT good. Their ingredients are fresh which I love, but they don't have a very large menu, (a few sandwiches, 3 salads, soup, and desserts) I haven't tried all of their soups, they are constantly changing them but the ones I've tried are top notch. The fall season soups were the best! The desserts are also always changing, which is nice if you frequent Eat the Tea, you can always try something new! One tea lounge had over 100+ teas, diffused so you wouldn't have to eat it, and available by the pot... At Eat The Tea you don't have that option so it definitely adds up $$ when you want to try multiple flavor combinations. I'm not sure how many teas they have, but I'd guess about 20+, The tea itself is tasty even though I'm not crazy about eating it..but the health benefits are worth it. I have only tried a few different flavors, (hibiscus, ginger peach, piña colda) all brewed well and they can either be hot, room temp or iced. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly, happy smiling faces every time I've been in. For the environment alone I'd give this place 5 stars. The energy is so calm and relaxed, very cute and quirky art work with mismatched tables and chairs. It's funky, tiny, and if you haven't been by yet, you should head over there ASAP!

I live around the corner from this cafe and thought it was high time I try it out. Upon entering, I immediately met the owner and her daughter and they were very friendly and attentive. I ordered the soup of the day (veggie chili with fresh bread) and a side kale salad to go (because I was in a hurry, would have rather sat down to eat). Couldn't help but notice the constant attention that the staff paid to all of the customers. This was a breath of fresh air (but I could also understand if you are a stand off-ish person that this might be annoying- it did not annoy me at all, I thought it was charming). The veggie chili was so fresh and tasty- I highly recommend it. The kale salad was just okay (and I am a big fan of kale). There were such huge pieces of kale (that needed to be cut with a knife and fork multiple times in order to eat it) that it made it awkward to eat. Also, there was very little dressing on the salad. So, overall the kale salad was just 'meh', but it could be super good with a few changes. I'll give this place another try because I totally appreciate what they are trying to do- and they do it with such friendly faces. Who doesn't want to support local businesses who go out on a line?

Found this little gold mine by accident and fell in love! Very cozy and cute place! Food was superb! Soup, salad and veggie burger was amazing. My daughter had the sweet potatoe sandwich with vegan cheese and that was amazing also! Can't wait to go back!

This place has a such a sunny attitude and is a lovely place for breakfast or lunch. This is an extra-great spot for us vegans! Went with my husband and throughly enjoyed our food and teas. The avocado sandwich was really fresh and flavorful. The Not-tuna kale salad was also great. Now on to the tea, I had the detox tea...fabulous. My husband had an iced house fruit tea...you eat the steeped fruit afterward! Totally yummy and unique. He loved it. We particularly loved the unique touches like the mix matched mugs and the owl salt and pepper shakers. Adorable. Service was fantastic. Price can't be beat. Plotting my return!!!

This is THE best vegetarian restaurant! Everything is home made and delicious! Setting is eclectic and fun. And tea infuses all the food, yum! Not to mention a wide selection of teas to drink or buy, and owner Maureen knows all the healing properties of each. You'll come once and then be a regular!

I was just driving by one day and this colorful place caught my eye. I decided to make a U turn and go check it out. Once I entered this place, I felt like I walked into a picturesque Mediterranean cafe in coastal Spain or France. The interior is beautiful possessing a dainty calm yet wild "Art Basel" feel bit.ly/17PTzk7 bit.ly/17PTIEc bit.ly/17PTME4 . I spoke with the owner Maureen who is very pleasant and friendly, she informed me her establishment is a vegan/ vegetarian cafe with a strong emphasis on hot and cold exotic tea's. Maureen uses Ayurvedic and Chinese medicinal principles to make many varieties of tea blends labeled elixir's and tonic's. Basically you tell Maureen what you like, what ails you or how you feel and she recommends one of the elixir's or tonic's for you. She also sells the tea dry by the ounce for those who like to make their own tea and Ayurvedic bottled herbs. There is also a small vegan/vegetarian menu bit.ly/17PSeKg with a daily soup of the day. Maureen periodically makes chili bit.ly/17PSF76 . Sprinkled around the cafe are many interesting books on ayurvedic, general health, meditation etc to purchase or read. Outside of tea's and edibles maureen also sells tea drinking accessories such as uniquely designed collectors tea pots and cups. She also has tea dyed hand made purses/bags for sale. I decided to order an avocado sandwich bit.ly/17PSusD , lentil soup, and some kind of 3 berried flavored iced tea. The avocado sandwich was deliciously healthy, you could feel the rich flavor of the fresh ingredients with each bite. The lentil soup was perfectly seasoned with a strong herbaceous aroma possessing many hearty vegetables, some of which I could not identify. This was most fulfilling soup I have had in years. This cafe is excellent for casual relaxation while having a healthy drink. I think this place would be perfect to bring or meet someone to have an intriguing platonic conversation with. I will definitely be back, especially for those delicious tea's. UPDATE - watch out for the overpriced pies, they are $6.99 a slice and taste somewhat bland while being void of a flaky crust.. - they do not give you receipts here, so if you want a receipt you have to ask for one. - prices here are generally pricey..

I've been around the world, and never experienced anything like this. The teas are overpriced. I wanted a looseleaf tea which did not come with a strainer so I had to drink chunks of Leaves with my tea. I ordered the special, the price was not given to me, it was a sandwich. A grilled cheese sandwich. When I received the bill for one sandwich and one T, I was shocked to find that it was $18. This place is way overpriced for what it is, the ambience is not great and the food is not great

I love this place. It's very quaint and very cozy. The staff are all extremely friendly. I am in LOVE with their veggie burger! It is quite simply THE BEST VEGGIE BURGER EVER. It's house made and served on Gran Forno olive bread (best bakery in Fort Lauderdale) with sprouts, tomatoes and vegan mayo with some kale salad on the side. This is no ordinary veggie burger. It's full of grains, sunflower seeds and great spices. It's not cheap (12.99), but it's huge. I always save the 2nd half for my afternoon snack and it's still delicious cold, hours later. Their tea is very special. My favorite is the house blend, iced. I hope to eventually try other things on their menu but it's hard to stray from that veggie burger. I've heard nothing but great things about their other menu items. Perfect place for lunch with your girlfriends!

This little place is superb! The food is so well prepared and so fresh that that alone makes it a must visit. But, on top of that, the proprietors are warm and caring women with a flair for customer service as well as cuisine. Even the patrons talk to one another making it seem like a real neighborhood place even if you're not from the neighborhood. Their tea selection is extensive and nicely varied. I can't wait to go back. A vegetarian dream.

Drove by this place a few months back and have been meaning to give it a try. Finally yesterday i had some extra time and my bf was off of work. Never happens... opposite schedule's. So we decided to stop in for tea!! This is the cutest place in fort Lauderdale! Lots of unique artwork including mermaids! My favorite! We saw there soups of the day and decided to eat here as well. My bf is a junk food eater and really really surprisingly loved the vegetarian chili and the not so tuna sandwich. I tried it and it was delicious. I ordered the curry lentil soup and the kale salad. Everything was so fresh and prepared with love. High quality ingredients really make a difference. Lets not forget the tea! You have to try the get happy tea... and yes you can really eat it too!!! Yum yum yum! Super healthy lunch but so satisfying at the same time. Highly recommended! All of the employees are very friendly. :)

This is such a cute little spot for lunch or afternoon tea! It's very small, but never crowded. The food is fresh, organic, and delicious. The tea and smoothies are also very fresh and satisfying. Behind the counter they have dozens of tea cannisters, and they'll let you smell how ever many you want so that you can pick the perfect tea for you! The staff are also very friendly, and the atmosphere is just very cozy and relaxed.

Loved this place. From the eclectic decor to the food and the warm enthusiasm of the people working there. When we walked in, we were given an out-of-this-world delicious gluten-free brownie sample and a chai tea sample. Yummy. I had an avocado sandwich with a side salad and a bowl of curried mushroom soup. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. I paired the food with an herbal tea. So good. Will be coming back for sure. I wish we had more places like this all across Broward.

Stumbled into this place after a yoga class at the neighboring Red Pearl. We were instantly impressed with the owner's friendliness and the restaurant's charm. We ordered teas and two sandwiches (the avocado tomato sandwich and the not egg salad sandwich). Both were served with a side salad that had beautiful edible flowers. SO CUTE! Great restaurant, great food, definitely going back!

Such a cute place, friendly staff and a wonderful unique product ...I had a berry blend tea which was devine. The menu looked so appealing I will be back to try very soon.

It was... different, I'll give them that. Anyway, my wife is on a Tea kick, so she scoped out some places and this one popped up close to where we live, why not try it out. According to this Yelp page, Google searches AND their own business hours sign in the front of their restaurant they open at 11:00 AM on Sundays. Well we came at about 11:45 and tried opening the door, then knocking. One of the owners came to the door about 3-5 minutes later and said "oh, we aren't open yet..." in a spaced out sort of "what is time & space, what does it all mean" tone. (I honestly wonder if we had just woken her up from a catnap or something...) After they were so kind as to open for us 45 minutes after they were suppose to open anyway, we ordered two teas... The owners don't really tell you what kind of tea they are giving you, just act as a psudo-Doogie Howser/House M.D. style, "What ails you?"... My wife complained of back pain so up came a green tea concoction of hopes and dreams. Uhh, nothing really ails me I guess, so I got an Earl Gray tea. The tea was fine. It was tea. Nothing I couldn't get anywhere else. The prices? $4.50 for one cup of tea, THAT I can't get anywhere else. Will not be back, whether I have to wake them up to open or not.

The avocado & beet salad is awesome with nuts, kale, & sweet potato. Tastes so good you wouldn't know it is so healthy. And the house blend loose tea iced was so good I could eat the little pieces of fruit at the bottom of the glass. So glad we stopped here. A little gem in Victoria Park. Perfect after a bike ride & swim.

This place is true hidden gem. Family owned and operated. They make everything fresh and from scratch. Very healthy, organic and fresh. They make health food TASTE GOOD. I have loved everything I've had so far. They are also the nicest people, they truly care about you and if you're happy with their food.

Short review, because I only had a molasses cookie, but it was excellent! Full range of exotic, rare teas that are brewed to order, but they'll set you back $4.50--even for ordinary varieties. Wish prices were posted on merchandise and on a reader board for drinks and other options. Cute and cozy shabby chic decor.

Love this place... I drove by it yesterday and decided to stop by today- I'm glad I did. They have tea for everything and ladies... They have tea for PMS!!! LoL so worth it :)

I've gone to eat the tea twice. The first time service was slow and the seating was arranged weird, we left before even getting drinks. Second time I got take out. The menu is limited and unimaginative. I had one of their sandwiches and it was just OK. I also had a chocolate cake. It was decent. As a vegan I'm always excited when I hear of a veggie restaurant, so was pretty disappointed with my experiences at eat the tea.

Great little place. Love the food, soup, smoothies and tea. And everyone is so nice. Only downside you have to wait forever to get your order. For. Ever! Don't go there if you need to eat right away cause your blood sugar is dropping. You'll wait at least 15 minutes.

Great friendly tea/smoothie holistic place for a drink and relax. I just got over a nasty stomach bug and lost my appetite and couldn't even eat breakfast like eggs that morning. As we rode our bike by this place, we went in for tea. I told the girl there my story and she recommended me blueberry ginger tea. Few hours later, I was eating a full sandwich with fries. Decor very nice too. Only reason this place lost a star was because I wanted an ice cold tea..but it came out more lukewarm, which probably was better for my stomach anyways. Tea bag was made with loaded with loose tea leaves/ingredients. Not ur regular tea bag at all. My bf had the pear smoothie, delicious as well. Thx.

I just ate the best sandwich of my entire life here. About ten of us went here with the Tea House Meetup group. What a beautiful little restaurant and shop! It's artsy and colorful, just like owner Maureen and the lovely cooks and waitresses. I highly recommend the avocado sandwich if you're looking for something light and fresh, totally delicious and vegan. I'm pretty sure I've died and gone to vegan heaven. My non-vegan friends loved this place too, and most of them didn't even realize it was vegan food. Keep in mind that this place is part of the slow food movement. Although you can get your food to go, this is the kind of place to sit down and truly savor the food and the tea. Chat with Maureen and the regulars. You'll learn a lot, have a great time and leave feeling revitalized.

I had a stomach tea & a green tea scone. Both were delicious. The owner was very friendly. And the environment is chill & relaxed. This will be my new tea place.

After reading the Miami Herald article about this place I decided to give it a try. miamiherald.com/2013/11/… Highest quality vegetarian food I have eaten in Ft. Lauderdale, hands down, and you get what you pay for. This isn't a drive thru or chain place with a bunch of kids working inside, Maureen and the other girl there were nice, knowledgeable, and the place is clean. My wife and I had each had a bowl of the tomato bisque, green tea lemonade, and split a "not tuna" sandwich. The glasses were glass, real plates, which is important to me, and it couldn't have been yummier. I can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu. This place is for grownups who care about what they put in their body, and it's a refreshing departure from places that you have to order by number or wait in line to speak to someone who isn't happy to see you. If I don't stop by this place to eat at least once a week now that I found it and know this kind of place actually exists, I'm doing something wrong.

If you want authentic, handmade food with a bit of fun flare, you will get it at Eat The Tea. As far as the prices go, my experience has always been that they give you a decent amount of food (and it's delicious and healthy too!) for the price because for me (and friends), I am always asking for a to-go container. The prices are perfect and the food is always great. The staff is always entertaining and the ambiance is peaceful. Don't just go in for tea, go in for tea INFUSED foods!

Had a wonderful avocado and sprouts sandwich. I don't think this place is entirely vegan though because I'm fairly certain there was regular mayonnaise on my sandwich. I don't care for mayonnaise and was able to scrape most of it off. The sandwich otherwise was great. I'd definitely try it again.

Neighborhood gem. Visited late morning with my daughter and a friend. The 2 sister who run (own?) the place are friendly and inspired. We had a few samples, smelled some of the various teas and got a very personable introduction. The whole vibe of the place is whimsical, colorful and inviting but the best was the product: I don't think I have had a tea this good! (it was on sample at the bar). I thought I knew tea as I am from a tea drinking family, and regularly drink mint tea and rooibos tea a few times a week. Eat the Tea's products opened my eyes to the tea world and I can't wait to head back to this colorful neighbor shop.

One of my favorite places to eat as of late. Maureen puts so much love into her food and tea. The food is all organic from local farmers and the bread is fresh from an Italian bakery on Las Olas. I love this place! The "not tuna" sandwich is insanely delicious! She features fresh soups that she rotates daily. No matter what is ailing you she will create a tea specifically for you! Some people are going to complain and say it is "expensive', but a great quote I once heard, "if you think eating organic is expensive, have you priced cancer lately".......so eat healthy and be grateful as you pay for your handcrafted meal that was made with loving hands that care about what they are putting into your body! that is priceless!

Food quality 10, quantity 1, value 0. Eleven dollars for a salad the size of a side salad at best. Ridiculous!
